Pop Up Bow-tie Making Workshop presented by Phranc: a self-professed queer artist, Jewish lesbian, folk singer, and cardboard cobbler.

Phranc self-identifies a queer artist, Jewish lesbian folk singer, and "cardboard cobbler." By revisiting and reimagining her history, she contextualizes her experiences within the broader narratives of second-wave feminism and queer activism. This second iteration of The Butch Closet offers a more intimate, immersive engagement with her sculptural works, allowing visitors to peer into a central closet designed by Phranc, exploring themes of visibility, privacy, and the unseen.

This is a collaboration with the Institute for the Humanities, where Butch Closet is on display in the Gallery, Sept. 12 - Oct. 25, 2024
