Take a tour and learn about the eco-village, Avalon Village! Eat dinner and explore the Eastern Market! Transportation will be provided
How do we make our communities more sustainable? Tour eco-village, Avalon Village, for a practical example. The community prioritizes leadership, specifically in their youth, through summer camps and the Homework House. They’ve labeled themselves the prototype in converting blighted land into a useful resource, also distributing aid to those in crisis in Highland Park.
After the tour, eat dinner at the Eastern Market! The market has become a hub for food, culture, and the local community. These restaurants are known to make dishes with the produce from the farm stands, showing how even in urban settings fresh and locally sourced food items can be used.
This is a full-day event, and you must be available for all of it! Spots are limited, so register now!

The UM-Flint Seed Library is growing!
As Spring approaches we invite you to bring dried seeds from vegetables, fruits, and flowers to swap with other attendees or donate to the seed library. Our preference is for heirloom, natives, and non-GMO seeds.
For the houseplant enthusiasts, bring any propagations that you'd like to swap.
Register if you'd like to receive a reminder email.
