Join us Saturday, August 23, 2025 for a day of fun, connection, and local exploration! Whether you're up for the whole day or just dropping in, there's something for everyone. Everything is walkabout distance from Campus or you can use Safe Ride!

Additional Info:
-Free parking is available in the Flint Cultural District for those driving.
-A staff member will be stationed in the UCEN (University Center) lobby from 3:30–5:00 PM to help direct you if you're walking or need assistance with Safe Ride.
-Staff will be present at each event location throughout the evening to assist you and answer any questions.

Join Us for a Group Bike Ride!
We're heading out on a scenic ride along the down the Flint River Trail on Sunday, August 24th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
We'll meet in front of the REC Center before the ride begins. A waiver will be available at check-in and must be signed before joining the ride. Helmets are optional but recommended. We'll also do a quick bike fitting before we head out to make sure everyone is comfortable. Come enjoy a fun and relaxed ride with us! You can bring your own bike if you would like.

We'll be there armed with props and various signage to help you capture the best memories from the first days of classes!
No registration required - come as you are, and bring your camera/smartphone - we'll be on the ready to snap the pic for you to have!

Join us on the first day of academic classes for Yoga on the Lawn. Meet us on the North Lawn (between UCEN & the river) and unwind in the outdoors.
Yoga mats will be provided, along with details on all of our FREE drop-in group fitness classes for the fall semester. **Rain location: rec center**

ChrisJones is a hypnotist, comedian and the host of the prank series Double Take on Facebook Watch. Jones is well known for his appearance on America’s Got Talent when he made the impossible happen: Known germaphobe Howie Mandel shook hands with Heidi, Howard, and Mel live. Since his first TV appearance, Chris has performed on shows like The Steve Harvey Show, Windy City Live, Good Day Chicago, Penn and Teller, Scam School, and the Adam Carolla Show. He has now made his way to UM-Flint to showcase his amazing hypnosis skills! Prepare for a mind-bending journey and an unforgettable experience!

Join us at the Rec Center for a ROCK WALL, yard games & mobile gaming truck outside + drop-in sports, group fitness classes & FREE t-shirts inside*! You can also learn about all the different recreation opportunities on campus, including: club sports, esports, intramural sports, group fitness classes

The Multicultural Mixer is a great event to get to know other students and staff on campus and how our identities lead us to have similar experiences. Also in between conversations have something to eat as free food is provided for anyone who signs in!

Drop in anytime between 12-5pm at the Esports Lab in Riverfront to play a variety of games. Titles include: Rocket League, Valorant, Fortnight, Overwatch 2, League of Legends, and more. You can also play Super Smash Bros on the Switch!
Staff will be on hand to help show you around the lab, and tell you how you can get involved in esports. *Bring your MCard* you will need to swipe your card at the front doors of Riverfront.

Campus Community, it’s time to head outside to celebrate PRIDE! Join CGS, PRIDE, in this rainbow-themed cookout in Willson Park. Games, music, bracelet-making, and community will all be available. We will be giving away the coveted Campus Pride t-shirts. Wear your Pride colors and meet us in the park!

Meet our friendly staff, learn about our services, enjoy light refreshments, and explore how we can support your mental health and well-being throughout the semester. All students are welcome. MHFA is skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge. Similar to physical First Aid and CPR, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved.
Participants will be required to complete at two hour pre-training before the in-person training.

Looking for a community space, a resource space, or a space to connect? Join us at CGS for our annual open house. Students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to learn about CGS services, upcoming events, scholarships, and support. Light refreshments will be available.

On Thursday, September 11th, from 4:30- 6 p.m. in McKinnon Plaza, The Intercultural Center is kicking off the start of the semester with our annual ICC Cookout!
The ICC Cookout is an event for new students looking to get involved in the campus community to meet the various multicultural orgs along with student and community resources over food, games, and more!
Free Food will be available to everyone who check-in at the event, we hope to see you there and get to know the amazing campus community!
