Are you interested in trying your hand at gardening this year? Attend our Seed Starting workshop to learn the basics of starting your plants from seeds. Whether you have acres and acres or a small container in your kitchen, starting from seed can be a cost effective way to grow your garden. Participants will take home some started seedlings.

MDHHS is also offering soil lead testing with their SoilSHOP. Bring samples from around your yard and MDHHS will test the soil for lead levels. Samples must:
  • fill 2 - 3 cups
  • have rocks and plants removed
  • be air dried
  • be labeled with location
For more precise instructions, see the attached flyer or this video. Samples can be dropped at the UM-Flint Thompson Library circulation desk from Monday, April 27 - Friday, May 1 between noon and 5 p.m.

This workshop is open to the public but registration is required. Registration closes on Sunday, May 3 at 5 p.m.
