The Theatre & Dance scholarship program is designed to attract and retain students of exceptional talent and to enable these students to pursue a degree without financial hardship. Scholarship funds honor a variety of theatre & dance patrons, past faculty members, and vary in their academic requirements. Scholarships are awarded based on academic success, community service, artistic merit, character, and potential for growth.

NEW & RENEWAL SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION/INTERVIEW INFO

Auditions and interviews are being held on SATURDAY, MAY 16th, at UM-Flint French Hall 161.

ā— ALL students wishing to be considered for a scholarship (either new or renewal) must schedule an audition/interview appointment by contacting William Irwin (Scholarship Coordinator) at wirwin@umich.edu.

ACTOR AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Actors are asked to prepare one monologue and a song (no accompanist provided, a blue tooth speaker will be available), OR two contrasting monologues demonstrating your range.

DESIGN / TECHNOLOGY / STAGE MANAGEMENT INTERVIEW REQUIREMENTS: All design, technology, stage management students wishing to be considered for a scholarship must be prepared to present and discuss their work in design, technology, and/or stage management. This may include a portfolio of renderings, images of realized designs, stage management prompt book, photos of your experience working in design/tech, or other samples of creative work related to their field of interest.

DANCE AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: Dancers are asked to prepare a one-minute dance in a style of their choosing that demonstrates their technique and artistry. A blue tooth speaker will be available for accompaniment, as needed.
