Maize & Blue Days are our annual welcome programs. We're excited to welcome new students and welcome our continuing students back with a set of programs from January 4-January 16, 2023. Murph Hero Workout of the Day

In honor of US Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy who sacrificed himself on June 28, 2005 in order to get a radio transmission out. Lt. Murphy as well as two other SEALS involved in Operation Red Wing, perished that day in Afghanistan.
The workout includes:
1 mile run/walk
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1 mile run
*with weighted vest

'Murph' is an intense, physically taxing challenge, however it can be modified so that anyone can participate!
*Modifications include, not wearing a vest, partitioning the reps, substituting exercises and/or completing a half-Murph.

UM-Ann Arbor Women's Basketball Game Excursion

Any registrations submitted after 5pm 1/13 -- your tickets will be transferred by 11am on 1/14.

We have a select number of FREE tickets to the NCAA women's basketball in Ann Arbor on January 14 at 2pm in Crisler Center. A charter bus will also be provided for free for those that do not wish to drive on their own; bus will depart at 12 noon, and return around 7pm.

Ticket Reservations:
Reservations open at noon on December 14. A wait list will also become available once all tickets are reserved. If a student cancels their reservation, the wait listed students will automatically be notified (in order) and have 24 hours to claim the ticket.

Free Charter Bus:
Please indicate if you will ride the charter bus to/from the game. Bus will leave at noon, and return to campus around 6-7pm. Additional details will be emailed as we approach the event date.

Limitations:
Limit two tickets per student, must be enrolled in current semester. Tickets may not be transferred to another person. Non-student guests may not ride on the charter bus. Alcohol is not permitted.

Join fellow student organizations leaders in a day to learn more about what they bring to campus life! We'll kick the day off with an engaging keynote presentation and then we'll have multiple options for breakout sessions, free lunch, lots of opportunity to connect with other student leaders, and wrap up with prizes!

Gym 101 - Getting Your Workout Started

Do you ever wonder what exercises to do when you go to the gym? Or get overwhelmed with where you should even start in order to reach your physical activity goals? Register to meet one-on-one with a certified personal trainer for FREE at the Rec Center!

Sessions are 30 minutes each and you can bring up to 2 friends with you. Trainers can help answer your questions, introduce you to proper form and equipment use, and assist with pre/post-workout nutrition tips. Get a FREE shaker bottle, protein powder and/or pre-workout mix for participating.

Family Open Gym

All current students, faculty & staff can bring their families for free access to activities on the courts for Family Open Gym from noon-2pm. Then, head over to the University Center KIVA at 2pm for a showing of Disney's Lightyear for free!

Activities on the gym courts, such as pickleball, badminton & yard games will be kid-focused and inclusive of all ability and experience levels. Snacks will be provided.

Several Ask Me Information Stations will be placed around campus during the Winter 2023 Maize and Blue Days on Wednesday, January 4th, and Thursday, January 5th. Each station will be staffed with UM-Flint Faculty and Staff members. Locations will include:

- MSB Expansion East Lobby (Murchie Science Building)
