Mission
New students, especially transfers, experience an adjustment phase to the academic, social, and environmental aspects of life at U-M Flint. MICUP can help smooth the adjustment period and quickly connect you to campus resources and support networks. MICUP will also help transfer students build a sense of community at UM-Flint. MICUP is a voluntary, selective program for new transfer students entering the University of Michigan-Flint. All new transfer students admitted for fall or winter terms are eligible to apply and will receive emails inviting them to do so upon enrolling.

Health Care Administration (BS)
The overall mission of the Health Administration Program is to prepare our students, who are primarily part-time working adults, to become culturally competent health care leaders in health administration who will contribute to the knowledge base of healthcare delivery and advocates for fairness and equity in health among diverse populations.

The Health Care Management program at the University of Michigan-Flint prepares students from varied backgrounds to become competent administrators, managers, and leaders grounded in cultural humility, who are committed to improving the accessible delivery of healthcare by enhancing system efficiency, tailoring solutions to community needs, and strengthening global health networks in the United States and other nations.

Health Sciences (BS)
The mission of the B.S. in Health Science is to provide a strong foundation in the health and human sciences for students intending to pursue professional graduate studies in physical therapy and other professional health science programs. The combined program components in basic science and health science will enable students to become effective and productive health professionals who value the diversity of the various communities in which they work and serve.
Public Health (BS)
We are “Public Health in the Community.” Our diverse faculty offer a dynamic, community engaged educational experience to prepare public health leaders to work to reduce health inequities in underserved populations.
Radiation Therapy (BS)-Confirmed Feb 2025 by J. Hollenbeck
The Radiation Therapy program offers a relevant and respected education providing high quality clinical and didactic experiences. Building from a foundation of collaboration and evidence-based curriculum, students appreciate social and cultural diversity as well as the importance of lifelong learning and service. This rewarding radiation therapy education is a cornerstone to advancing quality compassionate cancer care.
Respiratory Therapy (BS)
The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) Program is to provide graduates of entry level respiratory care professional practice degree programs with additional knowledge, skills, and attributes in leadership, management, education, research, and advanced clinical practice both to meet their current professional goals and to prepare them for practice as advanced degree respiratory therapists.

Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia
The mission of the Nurse Anesthesia Program is to ensure our graduates have the knowledge and skills required to provide high quality anesthetic care and are prepared to enter expanded and specialized leadership roles within the complex field of health care. This mission is predicated on the goal of University of Michigan-Flint to provide quality education, research and clinical service to the community.

To prepare clinically excellent Nurse Anesthetists able to shape the future of healthcare and anesthesia practice through translational research, professional advocacy, evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and the reduction of health disparities. The University of Michigan-Flint Nurse Anesthesia Program accomplishes this mission by focusing its didactic education and clinical training on current anesthesia literature and state-of-the-art anesthesia practice while promoting student diversity, inclusion, equity, wellness, and success.

The Student Success Center (SSC) works to support your effort to stay on track and graduate on time. The SSC coordinates New Student Orientation, Placement Testing, Academic Advising, Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and offers periodic academic success seminars.

The Common Read Program encourages students, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan-Flint to share in a common reading experience. The key aims are to: emphasize the centrality of reading to higher education and to a full and enriched life; facilitate conversations and relationships that can grow from a shared reading experience; and integrate the campus into national and global discussions and cultures.

Membership Benefits
A Common Read is a project using a common text read by students, faculty, staff to form the basis for a community of inquiry and discussion. It uses a particular text to stimulate intellectual engagement and community-building. The Common Read at UM-Flint is directed towards the entire campus community. The project makes intellectual and cultural resources available to the community beyond the campus and presents an opportunity to attract high school students to campus. Our committee is made up of faculty and staff from across the university.
